Top 4 Best Personal Smoothie Blenders – Budget Friendly

single serve smoothie blender to go

Green smoothies are all the rage these days, especially with vegans, hippies, body builders, or anyone else interested in health and nutrition.

They’re made by blending various leafy greens like spinach, swiss chard, and kale with fruit and water or juice. It’s a great way to incorporate veggies into your diet if you’re not fond of eating them on their own.

Personal smoothie blenders are great because you can blend up a healthy smoothie drink and then take it with you on the go to work, the gym, the movies, etc Because if you buy them from stores, they’ll cost you! I don’t know why they make it so expensive but for a 500ml bottle of green smoothie it will set you back approximately $8-$12. Insanity. So that’s why blending your own is both cheaper and healthier because it’s fresher. Blending a green smoothie is easy, and it’s even easier with the right blender.

In this post I’ll go over my top 4 recommendations for the best personal smoothie blenders, many of which you’ll find are budget friendly.

Top 4 Best Personal Smoothie Blenders

There are many personal sized smoothie blenders available on the market today, and so it’s understandable if you don’t know where to start in picking the right one. Just because they’re smaller than traditional counter top blenders, doesn’t mean they’re necessarily cheaper. Some are very expensive and comes with a lot of bells and whistles, while some offer the basics and gets the job done.

If you’re someone just looking for the basic package that still delivers smoothly blender drinks, consider one of the personal blenders down below:

1. Hamilton Beach Personal Sized Blender

This is a very affordable little blender that comes with a 14oz drink cup with a built-in blade. It’s motor power is only at 175 watt so it’s not a powerful machine, so don’t expect to crush ice and make smooth nut butters in it.

But it’s great for making protein shakes, banana smoothies, green smoothies, cocktails, and other things where you’re using soft ingredients. For harder ingredients like apples and pears you may find some lumps. But if you’re okay with that then the Hamilton Beach personal blender is a great choice for a convenient healthy drink on the go, I like it because I can sip on it while I work on the computer.

This little blender has only 3 parts and it’s very easy to set up and use. It’s pretty small so it’s very portable friendly, and if you’re looking for something small and portable, it is definitely worth considering.

2. Bella Rocket Blender

The Bella Rocket is another affordable little blender, this one a tiny bit more powerful at 240 watts. It’s very similar to the Magic Bullet in terms of size and power. It comes with 2 blades, a grinding blade and a blending blade. The blending blade is for making smoothies, the grinding blade lets you grind seeds and nuts.

It comes with a large cup and a small cup, both have twist-and-go lids which makes it to-go friendly. They also come with 2 shaker top lids which can be used if you decide to make some home made herbs, spices, or whatever, and you also get 2 comfort lip rings to make drinking from the cups easier.

Overall for what it costs, it’s a pretty impressive package and worth checking out.

3. Oster MyBlend Personal Smoothie Blender

Here is yet another affordable portable blender that is designed for on-the-go smoothie beverage consumption.

This one has a 20oz drinking cup with a to-go lid. I think it kind of has this sporty/fitness look to it, doesn’t it? It definitely is a good choice if you want to take a protein shake or green smoothie with you to the gym. The sporty theme would match your gym bag pretty well I think. But a down side is that it has a pretty small opening, so make sure to dice up your ingredients real well beforehand.

In terms of power it has a 250 watt motor base. This is powerful enough to blend most ingredients, but 250 watts is still considered a low power blender and you shouldn’t expect lump-free drinks if you’re blending harder ingredients.

Overall I really like the slender design, and it’s a great choice for people looking for a portable friendly blender with a sporty/fitness look to it.

4. Magic Bullet Personal Sized Blender

The Magic Bullet is a very famous line of personal sized blenders. You may have seen it’s entertaining late night infomercials many years ago. It’s still very popular to this day, and that’s why it’s on my top 4 recommended list of best personal smoothie blenders.

If you’re looking for something with a lot of accessories, this is it. The Magic Bullet comes with 2 blending cups with to-go lids, 4 drinking mugs, lip rings, shaker lids, and a recipe book.

The Magic Bullet has a 250 watt motor base and so it’s only good for the basics. In the infomercials it’s advertised as being able to blend up your shakes and smoothies in about 10 seconds. But again, do not expect silky smooth lump-free drinks if blending tougher ingredients. But for the basic peanut butter protein shakes, banana smoothies, make baby food, and other soft blending jobs, this is a definitely worth buying. (Read My Full Review)

I am on my second Magic Bullet.  My first one did not die, I just moved and ended up selling it before the big move.  My second one is not so good.  I am already having problems with it and it is about on it’s last leg.  I have had it about 2 years now.  So I am needing another smoothie blender.  Which one would you recommend that would be similar in features?  The OsterMyBlend?

Honestly, these personal sized blenders all work in similar ways so I’d recommend any of them. Also they’re all in the budget friendly range and you can’t really expect them to last that long. I mean 2 years for the Magic Bullet is actually considered pretty good for such a low priced little blender.

If you’re looking for something that will last you 10 years or more perhaps check out the Vitamix Blenders which are known for high lasting quality, but they are full sized and are a lot pricier. But if you intend on sticking to budget friendly personal sized blenders then the Magic Bullet is pretty decent, but don’t expect it to last more than 1 or 2 years.
