The Baby Bullet Reviews – Buyer’s Guide

pros and cons of the baby bullet care system

What Is The Baby Bullet?

It is a small blender with blades that whips up baby food. This product was released in around 2011, it is another creation by the Magic Bullet company, the same company that created personal-sized blenders such as the Magic Bullet, NutriBullet, and Dessert Bullet.

The Baby Bullet has good reviews and ratings, many moms really enjoy the many extra storage containers that it comes with to help store the baby food. They are also happy that it helps them make fresh and healthy baby food that is silky smooth and has the consistency of store-bought baby food, but it is much healthy for your baby because it’s fresh and free of preservatives.

It comes with 2 blades, a blending blade for blending things like fruits and vegetables, and a milling blade for making things like rice and oatmeal cereal.

Who Is It For?

It makes a great baby shower gift, and for moms who has given birth to a new baby or soon to have one. The Baby Bullet blender can make baby food suitable for babies of all stages of development, from silky smooth purees for new born babies, to chunky foods for those babies who are ready to start chewing more.

Why Make Your Own Baby Food?

Since you’re making it fresh yourself, you will know exactly what’s going into it, you’re not adding any preservatives or unhealthy things into it, and so you’ll know that you’re feeding your baby with the fresh food which has a higher nutrition profile. When you buy jars of baby food from the supermarket, they have likely sat on the shelf and was made months ago, it’s possible the jars of baby food is older than your baby!

Buying jars of baby food is also not cheap, usually for 2 jars you’ll be paying about $1 to $3, with this amount of money you can buy a few large sweet potatoes and actually make 10-20 jars of baby food yourself, making your own baby food will save you tons of money in the long run.

Benefits vs Regular Blenders

So you may be wondering, what’s the big deal about it? Why not just get a regular blender like The Magic Bullet or NutriBullet?

Well, the biggest selling point of The Baby Bullet is the storage tray and the many cute storage jars (with smiley faces on them) and special features like the date-dial on them that helps you keep track of how fresh the food is. These accessories helps you store the baby food and keep track of it’s date of production.

It comes with 6 jars with date-dials (you turn the dial to the date you made the food), and a freezer tray so you can store larger batches of baby food at one time, you can actually blend up about a week’s worth of baby food in as little as 5 minutes.

Power and Performance

The Baby Bullet blender has 200 watts, which is slightly below the 250 watts of The Magic Bullet. It can blend up soft foods into a very smooth puree. It has similar technology to the other Bullet blenders which uses a cyclonic cutting process, it means that the bullet-like shape of the jars help circulate the food back to the blades for optimal efficiency in blending.

This blender is only designed to make baby food out of fruits, vegetables, and other soft plant-based foods. Don’t blend hard stuff like ice. If you’re looking for a blender with more power and capabilities, check out the NutriBullet Pro 900, or the NutriBullet RX which includes a heating element that can make you soup.

How Loud Is It?

The noise of most blenders are generally loud, but this machine isn’t too noisy compared to other blenders.

Using The Machine

Using The Baby Bullet - How To Guide

1. The Baby Bullet comes with a big jar and a small jar, use the smaller one if you’re feeding your baby right away, use the bigger one if you’re making bigger batches for later use. Fill up the jar with your ingredients and screw on the lid with one of the blades, pick the “baby blend” blade for blending, and the milling blade for making things like rice and oatmeal flour.

2. Turn the jar over and place it on the power base, make sure it clicks and lock into place.

3. Using it is very simple, there are no dials or buttons to press, there is a 1-speed setting and all you have to do is press down on the jar to start blending, it will stop as soon as you let go. Press down and twist clockwise to make it blend continuously hand-free, simply turn it back to stop blending.

Quick Tip: If you want your baby food to be chunkier, then pulse blend it by pushing down the jar for 1-2 seconds at a time until the texture of the food is at the consistency you desire.

4. You can feed your baby right out of the smaller jar, it comes with handles to make it easier to hold. If you made a big batch, you can store it in either the 6 containers or in the tray. The 6 containers have a date-dial, twist the dial to the date you made the food before putting it in the fridge, this way you’ll be able to keep track of how fresh your baby food is.

Note: Do not put the date-dial containers in the freezer, if you want to freeze your baby food, use the tray.

What Ingredients Can Be Blended?

Use soft foods to ensure your baby food is silky smooth in consistency. Soft fruits like peaches, bananas, and mangoes work really well. If you’re blending up vegetables, make sure you steam it until it’s nice and soft.

Easy Breezy Cleaning

The recommended method of cleaning the cups, lids, and blades is to wash them by hand under warm soapy water. Some users report that they were able to wash them in the dishwasher without problems, as long as the water temperature is not set to very hot. If your water temperature is scalding hot, then the plastic of the cups may get warped. As for the power base, just wipe it clean from debris with a slightly moist towel.

Warranty

It comes with a 1-year warranty, but if you’re purchasing through Amazon, you do have the option to extend your coverage by another 4 years by paying just a little bit extra. This little extra is nominal, and in my opinion it is well worth it to add it on. You get peace of mind for 5 years vs only 1 year, this is a very big difference for not that much extra. Please check on Amazon for the exact pricing.

Accessories

There are accessories that you can purchase separately, such as a Baby Bullet tote bag for taking your baby food on the go, a Baby Bullet steamer for cooking and softening up your vegetables before blending, and extra jars and trays.

Final Verdict: Is It Worth It?

If you’re looking for that perfect baby shower gift, or something for your own baby, this is a great idea. It’s designed to make baby food, the jars even have handles on them so you can hold it while you’re feeding your baby. The date-dials on the jars lets you keep track of the date you made it, you’ll always know how fresh your baby food is. The jars and accessories have cute little smiley face designs on them, it’s wonderful to look at.

It’s lifespan is not long, but the option to extend the warranty coverage for another 4 years more than make up for it. If you’re looking for something that’s dedicated to your baby, then this is definitely for you. If you’re looking for something that can make baby food as well as other things for adults, then consider check out other blenders with more power and multi-tasking abilities such as the NutriBullet Pro 900 or the NutriBullet RX.
