About Juicing

Juicing (turning fruits and vegetables into juice, not steroids!) is the quickest and easiest way to get more fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet to improve your overall health.

If you’re new to juicing you may already have noticed that some juicers can cost anywhere from $50 to $3000, some people might not want to invest a fortune into a juicer until they’re sure that this lifestyle is going to work for them in the long run.

Rest assured that a good juicer that does the job well doesn’t have to cost a lot. If you are starting out on the juicing lifestyle and you’re looking to spend money on something not mega-expensive yet top in quality, look no further than the Breville BJE200XL Compact Juice Fountain 700-Watt Juice Extractor.

Breville BJE200XL, Product Overview

The Breville BJE200XL is a centrifugal juicer with a 700-Watt power that spins the blade at 14,000 RPM. This turns any fruit or vegetable into liquid, leaving behind clump of almost-dry fiber.

It has a circular 3 inch wide feeding tube which is big enough so that you can drop whole apples into it without chopping it up first. Lets say you’re very busy but you want to juice, the wide feeding tube will let you juice without having to chop any produce.

Works With Any Juicy Fruits or Vegetable

You can feed it any fruit or vegetable you like as long as it’s got juice (bananas won’t work very well, also greens won’t work well) After dropping in the fruit, within a few seconds you will see the glorious results going right into the 25oz juice container cup which comes with the juicer.

The juicer is powerful enough to liquefy the toughest objects, even bones!

So watch your fingers and roll up your sleeves before using. This is a powerful machine and I am going to be going through some of best aspects of the Breville BJE200XL within this review.

Juicing Fruits vs Leafy Greens

Centrifugal juicers like this one isn’t ideal for juicing leafy greens like kale and spinach. Not that it doesn’t juice leafy greens, it DOES, but it’s just that you would comparatively get much less juice yield than you would get from a masticating juicer.

If you plan on juicing lots of leafy greens, I would suggest you get yourself a masticating juicer such as the Omega J8006, it will save you lots of money in the long run.

Excellent Value For Money

As soon as you take it out of the box you will know it is solidly built and all the parts are extremely easy to assemble, you would also feel that it could last you a very long time.

A lot of online reviewers say they were able to juice for 5 years with this machine and still doing great, not bad for an affordable model. It has earned plenty of positive reviews on many websites and the consensus is that this is definitely one of the top juicers on the market today.

Juices Yield

The Breville BJE200XL has a high yield of juice which will lead to drier pulp, overall the juice yield is pretty top notch even for a centrifugal juicer. A centrifugal juicer (spinning grinding blade, faster juicing) which differs from a masticating juicer aka cold press juicer (crushes the produce, slower juicing).

Masticating juicers are much more expensive  but they extract more nutrients than centrifugal juicers. If you’re a beginner who wants to try out juicing, the centrifugal juicer is more than enough to give you a good idea of juicing and whether or not this is the right lifestyle for you.

Invest In Juicing To Save Money

I used to buy lots of bottled juices in the stores and they’re really expensive, a 500ml bottle juice of carrots and greens can easily cost up to around $10, and that would only last me until lunch.

I can easily drink 500ml bottle multiple times per day, and over the course of a month it really adds up to $100+ in spending just on juice, which doesn’t include the money that I also spent money on smoothies and protein shakes.

Buying Fresh Produce At Farmer’s Markets

buying fruits at farmers market

Sometimes you can find produce for dirt cheap at the market. I remember finding deals such as a 5lb bag of carrots on sale for a dollar, or a huge bag of apples for a dollar.

You can definitely find deals like this at farmer’s markets, and you can juice whatever you have, this will save you tons of money.

I can make my own 500ml of juice for less than $1.  This cost me 10 times less than what I would pay at the store, and this is healthier too because it’s FRESH, whereas the juice in stores may be pasteurized which means some nutrients may be destroyed in the process.

Not Just Juice, You Can Make All Kinds Of Things

There are so many uses for the juicer beyond just juicing. Baby food, pulp burgers, sorbet, salsa, face mask, and even dog treats! Yes, even your dog can benefit from your juicer. Just mix in some flax and sunflower seeds into your pulp and then dehydrate them in the oven, then out comes a nutritious snack for Fido.

Just make sure to do proper research first to know which foods may be toxic to your pets, here is a list of some things you might want to avoid feeding your cat or dog. Here is a recipe for the aforementioned doggy treat.

You can find lots of videos on YouTube of people using their Breville BJE200XL to show you their recipes and walk you through them. So this product is great for juicing, but it could also inspire you with different meal ideas and even deserts.

Clean Up Couldn’t Be Easier

You can disassemble each component of the machine in seconds due to it’s easy snap-locking mechanism, and with a quick 2 minute rinse everything will be back to service quality.

There are very few crevices in the machine which means you don’t have much scrubbing to do. It comes with a cleaning brush that makes cleaning the metal basket easier and safer for you. Also, all of the components (aside from the motor), are dishwasher safe.

Conclusion, The Breville BJE200XL Rocks

I’m a believer in this product and I have found many others who LOVE this juicer. There aren’t that many drawbacks although the pulp could be drier and the yield could be a bit more, but overall it does an excellent job.

Juicing is an easy way to start a healthier lifestyle for anyone, and eating more living foods with live enzymes is only gonna benefit your health and your taste buds. If this sounds appealing to you, I highly recommend that you buy yours today.

  1. Cathy says:

Hey Kent, I have just started the habit of juicing without using a juicer. I know these machines are powerful, but they are really huge for my tiny and crowded kitchen.

Currently, I am using a blender and a mesh sieve. Since there’s only the two of us, we don’t really need to make huge volume of juice.

It would be nice to have a machine like Breville, but for now, these two apparatus work just fine for us.

      Hey Cathy,
this product is designed for limited counter space, it is compact and the pulp is collected at the footprint to save space. using a blender and mesh sieve sounds like a lot of work and cleaning up! must be a chore if you juice everyday. but glad to hear you are into juicing, thanks for commenting.
